Family friendly cruises are on the rise because they offer as many exciting activities for the kids as they do for the adults. Taking a cruise is a great way to take in a number of destinations on a single holiday whilst at the same time letting you relax in the knowledge that the kids won’t get bored. In my view – family holidays and cruises go hand in hand. Having experienced it myself, it’s fair to say that a cruise ship is a safe and well catered for environment for your kids. The daily programmes available on board are endless, offering a variety of activities designed to keep the kids entertained and active. The beauty of cruising is that it’s very much like a package holiday with your transportation, meals, accommodation, live entertainment and many activities included in the price whilst at the same time, providing you the opportunity of visiting multiple destinations without packing and unpacking the suitcase each time.

Costa cruise vacations are packed with so much that there truly is something for everyone, from the young to the young-at-heart. Costa Magica is a spectacular holiday destination inspired by some of the most beautiful places in Italy. You board the ship in Barcelona then head to Palma De Mallorca, Spain. From there its on to La Valletta, Italy. Day 5 sees you arriving in Catania, Sicily before heading on to Naples on day 6. The your final destination is Savona before you return to Barcelona on Day 8. And the best part – everything is included!

Its now less than 50 days till the  Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games and I am super excited as I will be there waving the SA flag with much vigour! For all of you at home, I will do my best to keep my blog updated with event info, random facts and a sense of the atmosphere in and around London so make sure you check back regularly! Although we only have tickets for the Mountain biking (how lucky was that) and the diving, Im pretty sure that if the Queen’s Jubilee was anything to go by, the atmosphere in London over the Games is going to be electric! And of course there are quite a few “free spectator” events happening too so we will do our best to find a lamp post/ bollard or tree to help us catch a glimpse of the events taking place whilst we are there.

Kick back and soak up some winter sun. Take advantage of these great holiday offers on the island of Mauritius with a choice of 6 stunning resorts. For more information, drop me a line: laurenlowry@leisureandtravel.co.za or give me a call on: 031- 3121827
